FFS is an Engineering Design Competition for all passionate, dedicated and supremely mature Undergraduate Engineers of our Country.

FFS is organized by Fraternity of Mechanical and Automotive Engineers (FMAE).

Who is FMAE?

Our initiative is to enlighten each and every one of you there with healthy knowledge of motorsport vehicle manufacturing and fabrication.
We at FMAE have a bunch of highly qualified and experienced team who would guide you throughout your path. All you need to do is join us. Now, let us warn you, the path towards glory isn’t going to be an easy one. You will have your share of hurdles to dodge. We will be there for you giving you all the important tips and tricks to get past each and every barrier that comes your way. Okay now, why are we so confident in claiming such a strong support is because we have a team which is headed by 25 Technical Experts from reputed organizations/industries throughout the country and around 15 educational experts. We are really proud of having such a veteran team along with us. The organizing team of FMAE comprises of individuals with 2-3 years’ experience in organizing design challenges throughout the nation. All of us will endeavor to provide you all the assistance you want.

Why FFS?

It has been years that the Formula Student made its mark in Country. While these kind of activities promoting engineering practical application and implementation amongst the budding engineering students, many new bees enter into the league of participants every year. The primary motive of FMAE is always been to encourage the students to get involved in these activities. Team FMAE has identified that most of the new entrants are unable to make it to the higher stages of the competition (beyond the Technical Inspection) due to limited knowledge/experience/exposure/Guidance available. FMAE Formula Student, while providing an efficient competition platform for the students aspiring to design and develop the Formula vehicle, it also strives to impart the basic knowledge, provide assistance from FMAE advisors/alumni to overcome the major problems like project handling, understanding the basic concepts of the competition, financial management faced by the new entrants/inexperienced teams to develop healthy competition amongst the teams during the final round.

FSS is organized in three stages to ensure that we achieve the primary goal of the design challenge.

STAGE 1: Learning / FREE Official Workshop/Practical Trainings/Rule and Regulation Explanation/Financial Management Guidance/Project Management etc.

NOTE: The above stage is optional for all the teams.

STAGE 2: Online Presentation Round/Online Report Submissions. (SES, B. Plan, Design Report, Gantt Chart, Cost Report, DVP, DFMEA etc.)

STAGE 3: Final Round/ Competition/Static test/Dynamic Test/Design Evaluation/Cost Presentation /B. PLAN/ Technical Inspection/Tilt Table Test/Noise Test/Brake Test/Acceleration test/Skid Pad/Autocross/ Endurance and Fuel Economy.
