Dr Chandrima Paul graduated in medicine in 1987 and was accredited as an Ophthalmologist in 1991.She underwent training at the Glaucoma Service of Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and also in Phacoemulsification under the world renowned Ophthalmic surgeon Dr Howard Fine at the Oregon Eye Centre at Eugene in the USA.

Presently she is doing her Ph.D.,at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology in Kolkata. She has been doing pioneering work on early diagnosis and progression in glaucoma in Eastern India. She has been an invited faculty for guest lectures, the chief Instructor for Instruction Courses and chaired glaucoma sessions at both National and International levels including the World Glaucoma Congress.

She has been performing Live surgeries to train young Ophthalmologists at various forums. She has a sharp acumen at surgical, clinical and research capabilities, with a surgical experience running into Twenty thousand cataract and glaucoma surgeries with the latest in technology. She is the only recipient of the prestigious D B CHANDRA award of the All India Ophthalmological Society (Highest National Award for research in Glaucoma) and also a recipient of the DR B.K.MITRA award of the Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal(Highest State Award for research in Glaucoma).She has had the honour of delivering named orations at prestigious Ophthalmic congresses. Dr Chandrima Paul has the experience of having conducted Phase 3 Clinical Trials for antiglaucoma medications for various multi-national

companies at B B Eye Foundation. Presently, she is a director and consultant at the glaucoma service of B B Eye Foundation, Kolkata, which is a centre for excellence in eye care in the eastern part of the country.
