Lake school for girls was set up on 1st day of March in the year 1933.
Sm.Sushama Sengupta was the founder of this school.At the first stage of foundation she carried on the joint responsibilities of secretary & Head-mistress together of this educational institution.She started her working life with 19 students and a few self-sacrificing teachersat the time of foundation period.It is only the hard output of her labour by which the school came into the light of present goodwill and one of the first class educational institution of Calcutta.
The invaluable result what she put in the field of education by setting up this school led her to get the honour as "National Teacher" by the government of India in the year 1966.
