About Genius Marathon in IIT Roorkee, Roorkee

Genius Marathon is a non-profitable group of students of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee , with the motive to ameliorate the education level ,eradicate the child labor by bringing the awareness among the people of rural area. Every summer we set up summer educational camp for a period of 5-6 weeks for free, in which our volunteer of respective villages convene children whose parents can’t afford to send them to school, they teach them, train them in every perspective like general awareness about health, practice them Yoga for International Yoga Day, and inculcating in them moral values. We are making an effort to prepare those children to get in school, since we are self motivated group of students and self funded, we can afford to admit them in government schools and this is logical too. Our government is investing lot of money on the government schools but still people prefer to join private institution and poor people can’t afford to admit their children in such schools. We are working for making government school a place from where one can qualify any engineering ,medical or whatever field they opt exams. We are planning to provide supporting material for the preparation of different examination in the government schools and to motivate the respective teachers to support the children. For this, work from root is required. We are looking for the betterment, we are looking for the change, come join us and help everyone to get the education.
